I Love A Sunburnt Country ....

Last Thursday it was Australia Day, for some of us, in some situations, it means a long weekend. We were in that situation. The Engineer spent the weekend sailing with a mate from Sydney. I spent a final summer hurrah with my parents, firmly planted beside the pool, reading a book when and where possible. We have one more week of holidays. Soon I will have two school children.

It is hot.
It is humid.
The tennis has finished and summer draws to an end.

But, you know, that doesn't mean it is going to cool down any time soon. So, think of me ironing all the school uniforms and work shirts in 35C+ heat!

I've moved on from quirky methods of drawing names for particular prizes, I relented and conformed to Random.org for the Pass the Book handing over -

You can keep your heat! I'll have enough of that when it's my summer/your winter! Can't believe TFYO is going to school. I'm totally sentimental over that!

Your photos in this post are so pretty! Glad you had this weekend away to enjoy one last dose of summer vacation!

I have been scrapping non-stop since last July but been so lazy to upload photos, got the new iPhone (better pics) and can sync the photos to Dropbox so takes me seconds now instead of faffing with camera leads. Lots of pages to come! I am jealous of your heat!!!!!!!!! xoxoxoxox

What a beautiful spot you have to relax in! I'm looking at your lovely photos of sun and pool while it is snowing rather heavily here. It's beautiful, and we can't complain as we've hardly had any snow this winter. Nonetheless, I'm a summer girl at heart so your photos provoke some wishful thinking.

So I have gorgeous sunshine on my laptop screen, yet I can see snow falling out of the courner of my eye!
Enjoy your last few days of holidays.

Just a little bit of that heat would be lovely..it is below freezing here today.

Imagine! Another school-goer in the family. I can't wait to see the pictures..
