Holiday Photos:Part One ...

I sat with a blank draft in front of me for about five minutes, waiting to plunge back into the world of blogging after three weeks away. We are half way through our summer holidays and home again.
In the early days of January, after a week of taking no photos, the January check list over at FatMumSlim caught my eye and I thought that would be a great way to share our days, so far, over the course of the week.

Breakfast

Shoes

Water - early morning window cleaning

Guilty Pleasure

In the fridge

Water - one of the various forms, but at our doorstep

Colour

Read - cooking inspiration

Routine

Love

An interesting observation; the last thing I do before leaving the house is to empty the bins and clean the toilets, last night the first two things I did were empty the bins and clean the toilets .... The Engineer returned home early to work. Do you have a similar 'leave the house routine' before a holiday?

Welcome home and welcome back! Lovely to see you. :) Glorious photos - I love that one of your DD perched in front of the window! With all that talk of cleaning and bins, it sounds like you are back in harness (as my grandmother used to call it!). Mine would be to wipe over the worktops and dry off the sink with a tea towel before popping it into an empty washing machine - whereupon Himself would, as part of HIS routine, close the door - and we'd come home to a malodorous and mouldy rag. :)

Welcome back Amy!!! I missed you!
Even if you're only back for a big. Such glorious photos - love the window washing and routine best of all.
I hope you've found your break rejuvinating.

It's lovely to be back!

Yes Alexa, I am in harness ... there was plenty of painting and sanding in our absence, hence the need to get into the cleaning the minute I walked in the door.

The blog break was rejuvenating Rinda - a lesson for me to look back upon throughout the year!

I, too, was delighted to see your blog pop up in my reader, and I am another fan of the window washing photo. The last thing I do before we leave is to be sure the kitchen garbage has been taken out. (And count the bags to be sure we have everything we're supposed to have.)

Great to see you back,Amy....and with such glorious photos.
My last act before we leave the house to go away is to check all the doors and windows are locked....more than once....a bit obsessively,in fact.
Looking forward to more photos.

Hi Amy I have missed you too. Welcome back. thanks for the beautiful pictures for me to look at just before I go to bed! I love the window washing one best. My leaving house routine is the same as everyone else, loos, bins, kitchen sink & worktop. You only do the washing machine thing once, ha ha.

hellllooo stranger!
hmm, my leaving home routine: no washing on the line or in the machine, dishwasher turned on or empty, bins empty. The big thing though, all animals fed, locked up and with plenty of water.

Lovely photos! We leave everything clean when we head out on vacation, too. We run the dishwasher, clean the bathrooms, and empty all the trash.

Yes! Amy's back!!! :o) And the wait did not disappoint. I loved seeing your lovely photos this morning, Amy, and if I had to pick a favorite it would be that adorable shot of your girl in the window.

Welcome back, dear friend. Good luck with the after-vacation-adjustments. xo

Yep...Welcome Back! Great pics, but your girl sitting at window looks like it's winning hands down! I always take the final binbag to the basuras(community bins) as I'm driving out of the street

Welcome back Amy! It was lovely to see you pop up in my reader this morning and even lovelier to see you in my blog comments:o)
I always enjoy looking at your photos and like Deb, my favourite is the one of your little girl. The heart shaped lichen is pretty cool too.

It's so nice to see you back on my reader. Love the picture of your daughter and her position. Ahh the dexterity of youth. My last minute thing is making sure the stove is off, the kettle & toaster unplugged & the last of the garbage out in the bin.
