I wasn't going to post again until Monday, but I knew that some of these would be in demand. As I sit and write my eyes feel heavy, we have had a full week and we are slowly making our way towards Tuesday when the academic year finally comes to an end.
Last Tuesday was the school Christmas Carols service, for the past two years this night has been postponed due to rain; this year it didn't rain but it was very cold .. just what you imagine for summer in Australia isn't it?! As I looked across the oval I was overwhelmed by a sea of winter jackets and shivering children ... especially the fairies in their spangly summery dresses. This is us, rugged up and The Five Year Old in 'Mum Can Find You' in a crowd of 600, clothing, from past experience it was more than necessary.
On Thursday it was The Five Year Old's turn. You may have guessed by now that she is the personality of the family? Having said that, I was prepared for a head hung low and a wry smile on her face, especially since she was in tears earlier in the afternoon declaring that she couldn't possibly make it to the concert as her legs were tired and she was exhausted. She is fond of the dramatic. Our concerns were unfounded.
Oh, she ditched the tinsel halo, it was distracting and prevented her from acting out as a jolly, laughing Santa - glee, pure glee.
These photos are from only two of the several events on last week. We had a busy and, at times, dramatic week that included two birthdays and a couple of break ups, Taekwondo grading and a street party. Tomorrow is slated for a day of nothing, absolutely nothing!

Oh I'm so glad you didn't wait to post until Monday. :o) LOVE the close-up photo of you two, and the other photos of TFYO's performance cracked me up. I LOL'd. Thanks, Amy, I needed that! xo
Well she may certainly find work in theater!! You have had a busy week, but it was nice to see a glimpse of you :) Your Sunday will be like my Sunday, doing absolutely nothing and I cannot wait!!
Love seeing the Five Year Old in performance mode. The pic of the two of them in the Santa hats and you and her together are my favs. You should be totally exhausted. May each of you have a peaceful day of nothingness ;)
So, so precious!
Enjoy these times my friend - they are fleeting.

I hope you are enjoying your day of doing nothing today :) Priceless photos! (I do like a school that still lets parents take pictures!)

Love the Nativity shots! DS is so exhausted he slept for 1.5 hours on the sofa this afternoon.
Love the last one.
She is so into what she is doing.
A real star!
Sounds much like my end of term. Wouldn't want to miss any of these events - just wish they were a bit more spread out. Still one more day of school to go!1
