Great Ideas ...

One of the biggest problems I have with a journal/album such as December Daily and Journal Your Christmas is my continual self doubt over my design. I realise it is ridiculous, these projects are made special because they contain our words and stories, and, I think we all come up with a way to manage that suits our own style.

Having said all of that, I am squirrelling away a few ideas for future projects based on some wonderful albums I have seen in progress.

On Monday I blogged about our Friday at home and the story for that particular day has made it into my album.

Now, on to those links.

First is Robyn. I know many of you already read Robyn's blog so you may have seen how her album is coming along, if not, toot-scoot and click on the link ... a hybrid delight filled with wonderful, as always, journaling.

The next link is going to surprise a lot of you; it is a feast for the eyes and the colour palette is beautiful. Yes, I am linking to a project that is very detailed, but it's pretty clean and crisp and really, I have returned to gaze at it several times over the past week or so ... sigh ...

Lastly, a hybrid extravaganza - simply done. I'm actually kicking myself for not thinking of a design like this - but, it has given me lots of ideas for future projects.

Pretty cool hey? Thank you internets and thank you wonderful crafty people. By the way, if you have found any standouts and would like to share, please feel free to let me know in the comments section - I know there are thousands out there!

Oh, yes, I love, love, love Robyn and her blog ~ she is so generous of herself and ultra modest about her talents. Discovering other crafty people is what the Internet is for ~ all that is good in our cyber world. And I'm including you in that, Amy!

I go through the same thing - thinking I have it all figured out, only to find myself drooling and wistful over all the wonderful things so many others are doing. On the other hand, I've been so overwhelmed this month I haven't kept up at all!

I think it's hard to really appreciate your album design until you have it complete. Then the wonder of it shines through.

(I love what Sian is doing with hers!)

All four are lovely (yes, that does include yours Amy!). I know I don't have time to do albums like that, so I am content to do my own little thing. I don't think it's much but other people seem to - odd that!

I always think that other people's journals are much more inspiring than mine......and I love the clean simplicity of the ones you linked to....though I know I would never feel comfortable trying to make one in that type of style.

I always love the pure simplicity of your pages Amy and your 'words and stories' are always spot on.

Amy I think yours is just perfect the way it is and will make the most stunning photo book. But I do have to say that last link which is a new one to me, is just gorgeous and very much my cup of tea. And leaves me wondering why I don't think of those sort of things myself.

Amy I think your pages are absolutely beautiful, I love that single Christmas ornament on your journal pages, but I do know how you feel. I caught myself making my last album page much like my LSNED album, and I'm a bit mad that I did that. I will be paying more attention to my next pages and focusing on using the AE templates and overlays I purchased :)

Yes, I love all of these - and I always admire your albums too, Amy

It's not what you think of your album this year that counts - it's what you think of it next year, or ten years down the line. And of course you will love it :) But, for what it's worth, I think it's beautiful right now!

I think regardless of what your album looks like to you right now, you will cherish have these memories recorded (and your children will to!). If you enjoy the process, that's a big bonus. I think your pages are wonderful.

Thanks for the links, Amy :) Your sis beautiful but I agree with others that we don't always see the physical beauty in ours at first but I do always see the beauty of preserving our time here.

Well, I'm a huge fan of the Christmas album made "Over at Our Place" but these others are nice too.

I always love Robyn's work, and thanks for showing us the other two. They are gorgeous, no doubt. I'd be really interested to see Christina's beautiful gray and white album with journaling and photos in it. It's so beautiful I would hate to write anything on it!

Keep doing what you're doing, Amy. It suits you and it's perfect! xo

WHAT IN THE WORLD?! Who in the WHAT now??! You linked to *me*?!?

awwww shucks. so, so, so nice. totally made my day, Amy. :) Thanks.

I hear ya though. I've tried several albums that have the same layout every day and I can get stressed out about it. Like "is this too much of not-that-great a thing?" It feels like more pressure since you are going to repeat the design so much.

That said...AMY! This is LOVELY! Seriously now. Queen of Clean. Such beautiful photography and lovely journaling. Such great work.

Like the others, I always love what I find here, but I wasn't familiar with Robyn's blog or Anya's & I know I'll be back to both.
