Chill ...

Okay, tell me the truth, are your eyes rolling in the back of your head? Are you frothing at the mouth, hyperventilating or having heart palpitations? A week and a half ago I drove past a large shopping centre and the line of cars to find a park at 9am was 2 kilometres away ... so glad I didn't have to go there, so glad I didn't have to go there, so glad I didn't have to go there!

Keeping all things in perspective, I thought we'd chat about music and chocolate. Now, I've had to add a bit to this post at the last minute, you see, I wrote this earlier in the week because I wanted to share a particular music clip with you all ... lo and behold I check my reader first thing on Wednesday and Cathy Zielskie has this exact clip on her blog! What can I say, great minds think alike! This won Song of the Year a couple of weeks ago and we all love it here, and, it is just the right vibe for this time of the year if you ask me, even though it is certainly not a Christmas song ... so, go on, click play and let's get on with the chocolatey goodness ....

This only gets made once a year at our place, when you read the recipe you will understand why.

Chocolate and Pistachio slice

I omit the coffee liqueur and add in dried cranberries, I have a feeling this could be awfully good with a splash of Grand Marnier or any other plonk of your choice. Recipe is from Donna Hay.
I'm linking this recipe up at Beverly's place, I think we might be out with timing but she's sure to have plenty of sweet treats over the course of the weekend .... see you next week, and don't forget to chill!

This sounds wonderful,Amy....though I can see why it should only be made once a year....I wonder what it's like with cherry brandy??
I've spent most of today wrapping presents...not my favourite job....so not feeling very chilled!!

I saw that on CZ's blog, too. I also see that you've signed up for 10 Tips For Type ~ am thinking it has my name on, don't you?

oh dear lord I will NOT be making this one for the sake of my hips...and bum....and waistline! I will enjoy it in my mind ;-)

after one venture into the city in December, after the start of the school holidays a few years ago, I vowed NEVER to do it again. And that was in sleepy old townsville, not melbourne!

Yuuummmmyyyy... sounds lovely, but you are right, it's not your "everyday" kind of recipe, even if it is quick and easy!

I have to go shopping today - otherwise, I would have to go tomorrow... line of cars... Most of the stuff is bought or ordered, but I still need a nice thing for my mum. Got a plan, but can't find what I want. Off to look for it this morning (which means it's time I got dressed and went out - it's now 9:15... where did that hour and a half go?!!)

Gosh, it's not like that here - the news is full of pictures of empty shopping centres :( But then our bad weather stops people getting out too I guess. Recipe looks great - I love pistachios!

Oh, YUM! Though no pistachios for me, of course :) Still, might just have to try a version of this, thank you! xx

Whoa. Now THAT looks like a piece of chocolate that I could really sink my teeth into right now. I looks so rich and amazing!!!

Thanks for the recipe and also for the video. I'd never heard the song before, and the video for it is really cool. Nice post for this Friday morning. Thanks, Amy! xo

Those look very decadent! Yummo! I think the grand marnier would definitely be my plonk of choice :) I enjoyed the song and will ask Marvin to download it, thanks for linking it up :)

we love that song, here, too! Our local big shopping centre has introduced pay parking - it's been deserted every time I've needed to go there this past fortnight! I have no choice but to go there later this week, I'm hoping it's just as deserted!

I'd like to avoid making your treat, but I've already written the ingredients on my shopping list for tomorrow...

ohhh this one looks sinfully good, any time you combine a chocolate and a nut I'm in lol Thanks for linking up ;)

That looks rich and delicious and definitely a once a year sort of recipe! I'll have to come back to listen to the song, because I seem to have misplaced my headphones and I don't want to wake my sleeping family.

I'm keeping the baking to a bare minimum this year since I'm struggling to maintain the weight loss from this summer and fall. There's still a few pounds to lose, but I've already done a bit of back sliding. Sigh.

They look absolutely fabulous, though, and I'm a huge fan of chocolate and cranberries.
